A holistic approach to airport development

The tender will play a key role in revenue generation, passenger experience and the overall development of future airport environments. This tender process lay the foundation for growth by introducing attractive concepts, creating a cohesive offering, and ensuring greater relevance for a changing passenger demographic.

“Tender processes are one of our most important tools for enhancing the customer experience, ensuring competitive pricing, and maximising value creation at our airports. The F&B offering is an essential part of how travellers experience the airport – especially in situations where time, accessibility and convenience are vital” says Iskra Skram, VP Commercial Development Terminal at Avinor.

Broader offerings, clearer concepts and greater familiarity

As travel patterns evolve, there is an increasing demand for speed, quality and familiarity. With this tender, Avinor aims to introduce a broader offering, with clearer concepts and better differentiation across airports.

The offering will cater to travellers looking for a quick bite before departure as well as those seeking a more complete dining experience. Avinor also plans to highlight local operators where appropriate, while ensuring that well-known Norwegian and international brands provide a sense of familiarity.

At smaller airports, changes will be more subtle, but the goal remains the same: to deliver an efficient and modern offering that feels relevant, even on a smaller scale.

A key driver of the Avinor model

The F&B offering is important not only for the customer experience, but it is also a vital revenue driver. Commercial revenues directly support the funding of Avinor’s nationwide airport network.

“The F&B offering is a key element in how we develop our airports as attractive and modern destinations. This tender process is a strategic step to enhance the overall experience and secure robust revenues that contribute to the financing of our entire airport network” says Joachim Lupnaav Johnsen, Executive Vice President for Commercial Areas at Avinor.

What is Avinor looking for in new partners?

Avinor is seeking operators who combine operational reliability with the ability to innovate. The ideal partner is customer-focused, proactive and adaptable – with a deep understanding of the airport as a unique marketplace characterised by high volumes of travellers with varying needs and expectations.
