Growth was recorded in both domestic traffic (+5.2%) and foreign travel (+6.7%), with many airports achieving new passenger records in July.

Solid growth in both Oslo and Bergen
Avinor Oslo airport welcomed almost 2.7 million travellers through its doors in July. This is an increase of 9.4 per cent compared to 2016, and July was the busiest summer month ever seen. Bergen also saw significant growth with an increase of 4.9 per cent compared with last year.

"We are delighted with the excellent development in traffic this summer. These figures show how necessary it is for us to open the new terminal next week. It is important for the region to have an airport that runs smoothly without restrictions for those traveling from Bergen — and for anyone flying in to visit the city and our region. We are looking forward to welcoming everyone to a brand new airport," says Airport Director at Flesland, Aslak Sverdrup.

Double-digit growth for several popular tourist destinations
Several of Avinor's minor airports in the districts also experienced double-digit growth in July.
Record numbers of tourists represented most of this growth for these airports,
which included for example:

Røros (+40.3%)
Stokmarknes (+37%)
Svolvær (+26.7%)
Leknes (+27.4%)
Sandane (+21.9%)
