– Dette er en krevende sak både for Jagland og pressen. Vi fant det derfor naturlig å rådføre oss med redaktørforeningen, og deretter gi et utvalg redaktører en orientering om Jaglands helsesituasjon som bakgrunnsinformasjon slik at det kunne hensyntas i de videre redaksjonelle vurderingene. Det ble ikke inngått noen avtale med hverken redaktørforeningen eller enkeltmedier, og opplysningene som nå er gjengitt i offentligheten om Jaglands helsesituasjon medfører ikke riktighet, sier advokat Anders Brosveet i Elden Advokatfirma. 

Brosveet opplyser at Jagland er innlagt på sykehus som en følge av belastningen 
I kjølvannet av denne saken, og at han får langsiktig oppfølging i helsevesenet.

– This is a challenging situation for both Jagland and the press. We therefore found it natural to consult with the Editors’ Association and subsequently provide a selection of Norwegian editors with a briefing on Jagland’s health situation as background information, so that it could be taken into account in their further editorial assessments. No agreement was made with either the Editors’ Association or individual media outlets, and the information now being circulated publicly about Jagland’s health is not correct,” says Jaglands attorney, Mr. Anders Brosveet of Elden Law Firm.

Mr. Brosveet states that Jagland has been admitted to hospital due to the strain arising in the wake of this case, and that he is receiving long-term follow-up within the healthcare system.
