Planview Introduces TeamTap, New Team-Level Innovation and Ideation Capability

Share

Planview, a global leader in Portfolio Management and Work Management solutions, today introduced TeamTap – a new innovation and ideation capability for Planview Spigit, Planview’s innovation management software. Created to help accelerate an organization’s transformation efforts, this new capability allows companies to drive employee engagement, deliver value, and foster a culture of innovation within a single application. TeamTap offers a lean approach to innovation, supporting and aligning to Agile ways of working.

“More so than typical enterprise innovation models, TeamTap promotes collaboration and ideation within teams, using their crowd to lean in and problem solve,” said Louise Allen, Chief Product Officer, Planview. “TeamTap enables team-focused innovation and empowers employees throughout an organization to voice opinions and play an active role in creative ideation, helping their companies uncover ideas, challenges and opportunities that exist within their team and operational innovation spaces.”

TeamTap is designed to provide a simple way to promote continual engagement, allowing users to choose their own micro-challenge – or ‘tap’ – and continuously engage with a diverse crowd to discuss and collaborate on possible solutions. By crowdsourcing, ranking, and narrowing ideas, decision-makers can leverage data, technology, and their employees to cluster ideas and themes with the greatest potential – and take action on those ideas. TeamTap also helps with businesses’ operations and supports employee problem-solving alongside strategic challenges, providing a single innovation data structure and application for an organization’s entire ecosystem. The data structure and model help to surface previously hidden pockets of innovation, allowing organizations to leverage a data-driven innovation capability.

“This new capability extends an organization’s ability to bring forth the ideas that can radically transform their business,” said Razat Gaurav, Chief Executive Officer, Planview. “Not only does TeamTap capture collaboration, but it also seamlessly manages the entire process of data-driven innovation and prioritization for the lifecycle of a new concept – from idea to impact.”

According to Gartner®, “Data Driven Innovation (DDI) refers to the use of data and analytics (D&A) to develop or foster new products, processes, organizational methods and markets, which can drive the discovery and execution of innovation, achieving new business models, products and services with a confirmed business value.”*

Gartner continues: "The speed and success rate of digital innovations are improved by DDI. This means more efficiency in innovating new digital products and services. Increasing migration of socio-economic activities to the internet, lower data collection, storage and processing costs, and the generation and use of vast amounts of data are all helping the adoption of DDI.”*

TeamTap was introduced at the company’s annual customer conference, Planview Accelerate, and will be made available for Planview Spigit users on September 29, 2021. To learn more, please visit Planview’s website or register for the company’s TeamTap webinar on October 12, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. CT.
