Nordic Robotic Wingman vil bli basert på Milrem Robotics’ moderne Type-X RCV og KONGSBERGs nyeste og beste PROTECTOR eksternt kanontårn (Remote Turret - RT) som vil bli valgt spesifikt for å oppfylle de spesielle behovene til forskjellige sluttbrukere.

Det første Nordic Robotic Wingman-konseptet vil bli stilt ut på DSEI 2021 i London.

Type-X gir lik eller sterkere ildkraft og taktisk bruk for en enhet som er utstyrt med kampkjøretøyer i infanteriet, og gir mekaniske enheter det nødvendige verktøyet for å bryte igjennom fiendens forsvarsposisjoner med minimal risiko for egne tropper. Den kan utstyres med en kanon opp til 50 mm, panservernraketter og en lineforankret drone for kontinuerlig situasjonsbevissthet.

Systemene har en felles programvarebasis, er lette å integrere og gir utprøvde funksjoner for den som kjemper i en krig. Milrem Robotics’ Type-X er utstyrt med intelligente funksjoner som f.eks. følg meg, rutepunktnavigering og registrering av hindringer med kunstig intelligens som en del av algoritmene. Med Type-X introduserer Milrem Robotics også en funksjon som kalles “indirekte drev”, som tillater drift i høyere hastigheter.
