Honda Selects Parrot’s Media Center for High-End Vehicles
Parrot Automotive, a leader in infotainment and connectivity solutions, announces today that Honda has chosen its Media Center solution as new navigation system in its premium Legend car.
The Parrot Media Center is a standalone ECU based on Parrot IPs and features all Parrot Automotive’s core competencies. It is the next generation set-top box for automotive, featuring HD TV reception in motion, streaming embedded media content to the user smart phone or tablet, and Apple CarPlay ready. Based on Android, Parrot Media Center is capable of running a large panel of applications dedicated to the automotive environment.
For the Legend - a Honda high-end sedan - the Parrot Media Center has been adapted to modernize the existing vehicle architecture. It provides a new, premium navigation system, interacting seamlessly with the Head Unit, the control panel and handling all video and camera inputs of the vehicle.
The navigation manages embedded map data, points of interest and live traffic information in an intelligent way, in order to optimize the route. With built in gyroscope and speed sensors, the Dead Reckoning functionality enables the system to navigate accurately even when the satellite signal is lost.
Parrot has started the production of this solution for Honda’s luxury car for the South-East Asian market.
