ZTE Positive on M-ICT Opportunities in France After Toulouse Summit

At the “Digital Revolution and the Future of Industry” panel, Mr. Shi outlined opportunities for deeper collaboration in key technologies including 5G, the Internet of Things and new energy. The high-level China-France Business Summit was attended by top industry and government leaders, including Li Keqiang, Premier of the People’s Republic of China, and Manuel Valls, Prime Minister of France.

Mr. Shi said ZTE will strengthen its partnerships on 5G research with operators in France on standardization and research of essential technologies. ZTE has opportunities to work with French partners on 5G research under the Horizon 2020 program.
As a globally-leading player in 5G research, ZTE demonstrated its capabilities in this next-generation technology by being the pioneer in pre5G solutions, helping operators emulate 5G network characteristics on existing 4G infrastructure. ZTE’s leadership in 5G was recognized in numerous global awards, including the “2015 Global Technology Innovation Award in 5G Networks” from market consultants Frost & Sullivan in June, and the GTI excellence award in March.
Mr. Shi also identified opportunities for ZTE to work with French counterparts in the development of Cloud Computing and Big Data technologies to optimize operations of businesses, industries and organizations, through technologies such as the Internet of Vehicles and Smart City.
ZTE’s iCity family of Smart City solutions, deployed in more than 100 cities in over 40 countries, help customers in transportation, healthcare and education increase business productivity and efficiencies. Local governments can also leverage ZTE’s technologies to give residents improved access to public services. France, home to globally-leading automakers including Groupe Renault and PSA Peugeot Citroën, will also offer opportunities for ZTE’s Wireless Charging Solution for electric vehicles, Mr. Shi said. ZTE’s wireless-charging technology allows electric vehicles to re-charge their batteries more conveniently than current plug-in systems, offering high energy-efficiency and performance.
