Norwegian fashion brands looking to expand globally with a focus on China

Share
- The fashion design industry in Norway is young and developing fast. To stimulate growth and export companies need to take action now to gain insight and knowledge on how to do business in foreign, more complicated markets such as China for future export possibilities, says Gisle Mardal, manager of the Norwegian Fashion Institute.

The Norwegian fashion industry is developing rapidly. In order to start expanding globally, Norwegian fashion brands needs to build competence and establish networks to understand how to advance in complex markets such as China.

International orientation is inextricably linked to business, and global market penetration is a key strategy for growth. For the fashion industry there is no denying that Europe still is the main hub. Nevertheless, the rise of China and the other BRICS countries are steadily gaining more importance. The United Kingdom, France and even Denmark are examples of countries where creative businesses are increasing their focus on China.

To increase awareness around these challenges, the Norwegian Consulate in Shanghai in collaboration with Norwegian Fashion Institute has the pleasure of hosting: "Internal Business Seminar: Fashion Retail Opportunities in China".

The event will take place in Shanghai from the 10th–13th of November, 2014, during the Nordic Design and Innovation Week. Our goal is to create a fruitful and interesting seminar for our guests, allowing them to build networks and establish strong business relations.

Participating Norwegian brands:
Moods of Norway // Mole - Little Norway // Norwegian Rain // ByTimo// Henderson Cashmere // F5// Tom Wood

Norge får nasjonal strategi for kunstig intelligens: Abelia feirer5.2.2019 18:05:10 CET | Pressemelding
