Oslo Airport in negotiations with third cargo handler
26.8.2026 11:00:00 CEST | The Avinor Group | Press release
Avinor is moving forward with Worldwide Flight Services (WFS), a SATS company, regarding the establishment of cargo handling operations at Oslo Airport. Subject to conditions being fulfilled, Oslo Airport will have three air cargo handling operators for the first time.

– This is very good news for Oslo Airport and the cargo community. We have never previously had three cargo handlers at the airport, and a third operator will increase capacity, strengthen competition in the market and provide an even better offering for airlines, freight forwarders and cargo owners, says Eva Beate Lande, Head of Cargo at Avinor.
Oslo Airport is experiencing growing demand for cargo services. A new operator will also help strengthen the resilience of the cargo supply chain and facilitate further growth in both Norwegian and international air freight.
– We thank Avinor for this significant opportunity to expand the WFS and SATS network in Norway and, most importantly, to be able to support the continued cargo growth of Oslo Airport and its customers. Norway is an exciting market for air cargo. We look forward to working with Avinor and the airport community to develop a competitive and customer-focussed service offering, John Batten, Chief Executive Officer, Gateway Services Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia at WFS.
To initially operate from temporary facilities
Any new operation will initially be established in temporary facilities. At the same time, the establishment will be a step towards the planned development of Cargo West, which will provide additional capacity for air cargo at Oslo Airport.
– A third operator would be an important milestone for our cargo strategy. It will strengthen Oslo Airport’s position as a hub for Norwegian and international air freight, while laying a solid foundation for the further development of Cargo West, says Lande.
