9.3.2026 13:52:41 CET | The Avinor Group | Pressemelding
This autumn, Air Cairo will begin operating weekly direct routes from Oslo Airport to Cairo and Hurghada.

Air Cairo is launching a significant expansion in the Nordic market, introducing new direct routes connecting Norway with Egypt. From the 2026 winter season, the airline will offer direct flights from Oslo to both Cairo and Hurghada. This opens new opportunities for travel between Oslo and one of the world’s most historically rich and diverse destinations.
The new routes mark an important step in Air Cairo’s continued growth strategy in Europe and underscore the airline’s commitment to strengthening connections between Northern Europe and Egypt’s renowned cultural sites and year‑round holiday destinations.
Access to More Connecting Flights
Passengers traveling from Oslo will also gain seamless onward connections via Cairo and Hurghada to a wide network of domestic destinations in Egypt, as well as convenient access to key cities in Africa, Saudi Arabia, Iraq and the rest of the Middle East. With coordinated schedules and smooth transfer options, Air Cairo aims to offer Nordic travelers greater accessibility, flexibility and convenience when traveling to Egypt and beyond.
“We are proud to mark yet another important milestone in the development of our European network,” says Ahmed Aziz, Commercial Vice President at Air Cairo.
“The introduction of these direct routes demonstrates our long‑term commitment to expanding our presence in this key market, while providing travelers with affordable, reliable and comfortable access to Egypt and our regional network.”
A Long-Awaited Destination
Both routes will be operated with A320ceo/neo aircraft featuring 180 seats, with midday arrivals and departures. Oslo–Cairo will operate on Mondays and Thursdays, while Oslo–Hurghada will operate on Sundays.
The launch of these routes is expected to stimulate tourism to Egypt’s famous cultural sites and Red Sea resorts, as well as strengthen business, trade and cultural exchange between Scandinavia and the rest of the Middle East and Africa.
“We are very pleased to establish these new routes to highly attractive destinations. Cairo has been on our wish list for a long time, and we look forward to launching the routes with Air Cairo and sending many holiday‑ready passengers from Oslo Airport,” says Ulv Elbirk, Route Director for Asia & America.
Tickets will be available for purchase through travel agencies, online travel agencies (OTAs), and directly on Air Cairo’s website.
