Constructing a new wastewater treatment plant in Sweden
AF Gruppen’s subsidiary, Kanonaden Entreprenad Mälardalen AB, will, in collaboration with ByggDialog AB, construct a new wastewater treatment plant in Gävle for Gästrike Vatten. Kanonaden’s share of the contract involves groundwork, foundation works, and pipe installations, with a contract value of approximately SEK 500 million excluding VAT.

The project is being delivered as a collaborative turnkey contract with open-book accounting and a target price. The new treatment plant will replace the existing one. The worksite will span approximately 10–12 hectares and will require a high level of technical execution and coordination.
“It is both a vote of confidence and a great responsibility to be involved in the construction of a new wastewater treatment plant in Gävle. We are entering the project with a strong and well-aligned team, and we look forward to close collaboration with ByggDialog and Gästrike Vatten,” says Bård Frydenlund, EVP of AF Gruppen Sweden.
Work is scheduled to begin in Q3 2025 and is expected to be completed by Q2 2032.
