Schibsted Marketplaces becomes Vend: A new name for a smarter future
Schibsted Marketplaces announces its official change into Vend today, marking a bold new chapter as a unified, purpose-driven family of marketplaces across the Nordics. The new name and brand identity reflect the company’s ongoing evolution as a leading digital marketplaces company committed to helping users make smarter choices and spend their time wisely.

“As Vend, we are embracing a name that reflects who we are and where we’re headed—a family of trusted, innovative marketplaces built for the future,” Christian Printzell Halvorsen, CEO of Vend, explains.
“We’re here to enable smarter living through seamless experiences and responsible innovation. This is about much more than a new name—it’s a clear signal of our ambition to create more value for our users, partners, and society.”
A Family of Marketplaces, united by purpose
Vend is now home to some of the Nordics’ most iconic marketplace brands, including Blocket (Sweden), FINN (Norway), Tori and Oikotie (Finland), as well as DBA and Bilbasen (Denmark). Together, they serve millions of users every day: from families buying and furnishing a home to businesses hiring their next employee. These familiar brands will not change, but unite under the Vend brand.
According to Printzell Halvorsen, Vend’s refreshed brand identity reflects its commitment to simplicity, trust, and innovation.
“Whether you’re selling a secondhand bike or finding your dream home, at Vend we believe the experience should be effortless, empowering, and safe.”
A pure-play marketplaces company for the Nordic region
As a focused family of marketplaces, Vend is uniquely positioned to meet the evolving needs of Nordic consumers and our professional customers. The rebrand supports long-term strategic growth by deepening collaboration across brands while reinforcing a shared commitment to sustainability and user empowerment.
“We’re proud of our history as part of Schibsted, and even prouder of where we’re headed as Vend,” says Printzell Halvorsen, and continues:
“This brand gives us a stronger voice—one that reflects the values we stand for and the future we’re helping to shape.”
