After releasing his debut solo album Av daude gror last year, Andreas Rotevatn received significant positive attention. Tor Hammerø of Nettavisen wrote in his review:
"It grooves and sweats non-stop, and I believe he has the potential to reach quite a large audience with this brew. There’s definitely a chance that even advanced dance feet will be tempted into excess along the way."

Now comes the EP Av Daude Gror (Remix) featuring select remixes from central figures in the electronic world: DJ Prins Thomas, Xploding Plastix, and Double Trouble.

The remix of “Diaspora” is an experimental musical adventure, crafted by the legendary electronica duo Xploding Plastix. Perfect for the seasoned listener who enjoys electronic music with an edge. With this fourth remix of songs from Rotevatn’s solo debut, the EP is now complete.

Prins Thomas took the already danceable material in an even more dancefloor-oriented direction. Andreas comments:

- It was really fun to hear those remixes! A perfect blend of electronic and acoustic. I was thrilled that Prins Thomas wanted to remix my music. He’s one of Norway’s great electronica pioneers and has long been a source of inspiration.

Andreas Rotevatn is, in many ways, a split musician who stands firmly in duality. On one side, he has a rural upbringing in Nordfjordeid; on the other, over a decade of experience as an artist in the big city. Rotevatn has a deep love for functional, danceable music, despite an extensive education at several elite music institutions. He is a Spellemann-nominated and award-winning composer who also enjoys wide appeal and solid streaming numbers.

Lyrically, Rotevatn draws inspiration from the past—through Håvamål, Ivar Aasen, and the Bible—while also being driven by modern sounds from synths and drum machines. The acoustic and improvised meets the electronic and deliberate. Somewhere in the middle, in symbiosis, is where Rotevatn thrives best.

Xploding Plastix is a Norwegian electronica duo consisting of Jens Petter Nilsen and Hallvard Wennersberg Hagen. Since the early 2000s, they have distinguished themselves with a unique style blending instrumental hip-hop, jazz, film music, and experimental electronica. Their debut album Amateur Girlfriends Go Proskirt Agents gained international recognition and quickly became a cult classic. The duo is known for intricate production, unexpected twists, and a playful approach to genre boundaries.

Prins Thomas has worked as a producer, DJ, and remixer for decades. He has been Spellemann-nominated multiple times and has millions of streams on Spotify. He was one of the founders behind the Oslo disco—or space disco—scene, which ignited the underground in the early 2000s. Alongside Hans-Peter Lindstrøm and Todd Terje, he blended disco rhythms, newer drum machines, vintage synths, and effects into a wonderfully eclectic electroacoustic dance mix.

Double Trouble is a duo consisting of Prins Thomas and DJ Isoebel from Kolbotn. A fresh name on Oslo’s DJ scene, Isoebel has been part of the city’s club circuit for some time and recently stepped into the DJ booth herself. Prins Thomas took her under his wing, and together they formed Double Trouble, now debuting with their first release.
