Turkish Airlines settles in at Oslo Airport
12.4.2018 08:21:00 CEST | The Avinor Group | Aktuelt

For Avinor and Turkish Airlines, Tuesday 10 April marked the first daily departure from Oslo Airport to Istanbul. Turkey's national airline will now use its Airbus 330 on the route on a permanent basis, meaning improved capacity, more travel options and Business class for passengers travelling from Oslo to the rest of the world.
"Travelling to Turkey is quickly gaining popularity again and Istanbul in particular is becoming a popular hub for Norwegian travellers who plan to travel further across the globe. The fact that Turkish Airlines is increasing capacity for both passengers and shipping is a very positive sign for economic growth in Norway", says Jasper Spruit, Avinor Vice President of Traffic Development.
Successful launch
The launch event was attended by representatives from Avinor and Turkish Airlines, who joined the crew and passengers to celebrate the first departure with cake, refreshments and a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
"The full Business class service on this route ensures that travellers from Oslo Airport can benefit from the same standard throughout their trip, which, in turn, helps to increase the appeal of our offering", explains Spruit, who invited the press to join him in the cabin to view the aircraft's facilities.
True to tradition, the fire and rescue services also attended the event to provide the time-honoured water salute before the aircraft departed for Istanbul.
