CROSSFIRE EUROPE Announces the CFS 2016 European National Finals Champions
As the CROSSFIRE STARS 2016 Grand Finals approaches, Smilegate West is proud to announce the regional champions of the CFS 2016 Europe National Finals. With a prize pool of $20,000 USD and a chance to qualify for the Grand Finals, 28 teams competed in qualifying matches each Sunday throughout the month of August. The National Finals took place starting September 4th with the National Grand Finals on October 2nd. In the final match, two giants were facing each other once again. PENTA Sports, who won last year’s National Finals and 3rd place at the CFS 2016 Grand Finals in China, were challenged by Flipsid3 Tactics, just as in last year’s National Grand Finals. But this year both teams changed their roster.
After some nail biting matches and intense drama, Flipsid3 Tactics won the Nationals Finals and are invited to the Grand Finals held in Suzhou, China from December 2nd to 4th, 2016. This year’s prize pool for Grand Finals is $400,000 USD with 12 teams playing in a double elimination Group Stage. Afterwards the top 8 will advance to the Tournament Stage, with a single elimination format.
All participating teams in the CROSSFIRE EUROPE National Finals received a special permanent nametag, and team members of the first, second and third place teams received permanent nametags to show their accomplishment in gold, silver and bronze.
