NTT Communications Announces Global IP Network PoPs in Berlin and Frankfurt
NTT Communications Corporation (NTT Com), the global data and IP services arm of Fortune Global 500 telecom leader NTT Group (NYSE: NTT), announced today the expansion of its Tier-1 Global IP Network with two new points-of-presence (PoP) in Berlin and Frankfurt, located at e-shelter facilities. A leading European data center operator, e-shelter is a subsidiary of NTT Communications.
NTT Com is deploying its new PoP in Frankfurt, the company’s fourth location in the city, at e-shelter’s Datacenter Campus Frankfurt 1. With about 60,000 sqm of data center and technical space, this carrier-neutral, strictly-secured facility is e-shelter’s main site and Europe’s largest individual data center location. The new PoP in Berlin is located at e-shelter’s Campus Berlin, the company’s second largest site in Germany with 13,000 sqm, situated in the administrative district of Spandau.
As NTT Com continues to expand in Europe, the new PoPs in Berlin and Frankfurt will facilitate the delivery of reliable, high-quality IP solutions to Internet-centric businesses, Internet service providers (ISPs) and Internet content providers (ICPs) in Germany, and also offer more connectivity options to foreign companies looking to add services in these two highly strategic markets. Customers will have access to NTT Com’s Global IP Network and its IP transit services, Layer 2 Ethernet solutions and DDoS Protection Service.
