Xella successfully completes sale of URSA


Sale of insulation business is an important step to focus on building materials solutions Xella is ideally positioned in a rapidly changing industry

Duisburg, June 1st, 2022 – Xella Group, a leading European building materials provider of sustainable, efficient, and affordable walling solutions, today announced that it has successfully completed the sale of its insulation business URSA to Etex. The transaction closed today with the approval of relevant authorities and includes 13 production sites. URSA is a European leader in extruded polystyrene (XPS) and featuring among the top three producers for glass mineral wool. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.

Aachen, Germany – 7 July 2022 – Grünenthal, Uniklinik RWTH Aachen and RWTH Aachen University announced a collaboration to advance the development of next-generation pain medicines. The collaboration involves the institutes of Dr Angelika Lampert, Professor of Physiology at the Uniklinik RWTH Aachen and Dr Marc Spehr, Lichtenberg-Professor for Chemosensation at the RWTH Aachen University. The partners strive to develop a range of translational research tools and humanised preclinical models to enhance target validation. Under the terms of the agreement, Grünenthal will support the institutes led by Professor Lampert and Professor Spehr with approximately € 1 million of funding. ILA Berlin Air Show, Thursday, 23 June 2022, 16:00 EUROJET Turbo GmbH (EUROJET), the consortium responsible for the EJ200 engine installed in the Eurofighter Typhoon, has today signed a contract with the NATO Eurofighter & Tornado Management Agency (NETMA) to provide 48 new EJ200 engines for the Spanish Air Force. The contract, signed at the ILA Berlin Air Show, between General Miguel Ángel Martín Pérez, General Manager of NETMA and Gerhard Bähr, CEO of EUROJET, covers EJ200 engines for the Eurofighter Typhoon fighter aircraft as part of Project Halcón. The aircraft will enter service on the Canary Islands, adding to the existing Spanish fleet of 70 Eurofighters. In common with all EJ200 engines for the Spanish Air Force, final assembly of the engines will be conducted by ITP Aero at their Ajalvir facility with deliveries scheduled from 2024 onwards.
