Ambassaden er kjent med hva som har blitt publisert i noen medier om Iyad el-Baghdadi saken og om anklagene mot Saudi-Arabia.

Ambassaden vil gjerne påpeke at denne personen ikke er en saudisk statsborger og er ukjent for Saudi-Arabia. Det han sa er fabrikkert og falskt og har til hensikt å fornærme Saudi-Arabia.

Vi har vært i kontakt med den norske regjeringen for at Saudi-Arabia får ytterligere informasjon i denne saken. Saudi-Arabia forbeholder seg retten til å ta de nødvendige rettslige tiltak mot ovennevnte for å beskytte Saudi-Arabias rettigheter.

Statement from the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Oslo: 

The Embassy is informed about what has been circulated in some media in regards to Mr. Iyad el-Baghdadi and the allegations against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The Embassy would like to clarify that this person is not a Saudi citizen and is unknown to the Kingdom. What he said is fabricated and false and aims to offend the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

We have been in contact with the Norwegian Government to provide the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with further information in this regard. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia reserves the right to take the necessary legal measures against the mentioned-above in order to safeguard its rights.

On 14 September 2019, the major oil facilities in Saudi Arabia's eastern province were attacked by drones and guided missiles, resulting in a 50% decrease of oil production. Den saudi-statsborgeren Loujain al-Hathloul ble fengslet sammen med andre kvinner på grunn av anklager knyttet til trusseler mot statssikkerheten, samfunnetssikkerhet samt samarbeid med utenlandske land fiendtlige til Saudi-Arabia, og det er staffbart etter loven.
