Statkraft oppnådde et sterkt driftsresultati tredje kvartal. Det solide resultatet styrkerStatkrafts finansielle kapasitet og evne til å levere vekststrategien.

Underliggende driftsresultat var 4,6 milliarder kroner i kvartalet, en forbedring på 3,5 milliarder kroner sammenlignet med tredje kvartal i fjor. Forbedringen var drevet av betydelig høyere nordiske kraftpriser og en veldig høy norsk vannkraftproduksjon. Driftsresultatet var negativt påvirket av tap i markedsoperasjoner som følge av rekordhøy volatilitet for kraft og andre energirelaterte råvarer.

Den gjennomsnittlige nordiske systemprisen i kvartalet var 68,5 EUR/MWh, mens den var 9 EUR/MWh i samme kvartal i 2020. Samlet kraftproduksjon var 15,3 TWh, 0,7 TWh høyere enn i tredje kvartal i fjor.

Markedsuroen i energimarkedene førte til et negativt resultat fra markedsoperasjoner på 4 milliarder kroner på grunn av tap og negative effekter fra terminsalg.

Endringer i markedsutsiktene førte til reversering av nedskrivninger for nordiske vindkraftverk og tyske gasskraftverk. Totalt utgjorde reverseringene 3,1 milliarder kroner.

Resultat etter skatt endte på 5 milliarder kroner, en forbedring på 3,7 milliarder kroner sammenlignet med samme kvartal i fjor.

Statkraft hadde en solid kontantstrøm fra drift på 9,9 milliarder kroner. Netto rentebærende gjeld var 12,3 milliarder kroner. Dette gir rom for betydelige nye investeringer innen fornybar energi.

Statkraft har en forretningsmodell der landbaserte vind- og solkraftverk utvikles og bygges med den hensikt å selge anleggene enten før, ved eller kort tid etter ferdigstillelse. Inntektene fra slike salg styrker Statkrafts finansielle kapasitet og evne til å levere på vekststrategien.

I løpet av kvartalet inngikk Statkraft en avtale om å selge en portefølje med fire samlokaliserte solparker i Cádiz, Spania. Statkraft beholder ansvaret for byggingen av solparkene som forventes ferdigstilt innen fjerde kvartal 2022. Samlet makskapasitet for parkene er 234 MW. Statkraft signerte også en avtale om å selge vindparken Andershaw i Skottland. Statkraft vil fortsatt ha drifts- og vedlikeholdsansvaret frem til 2037.

I oktober fastslo Norges Høyesterett at konsesjonene og ekspropriasjonstillatelsene for to av vindparkene på Fosen krenker de samiske reindriftsutøvernes rett til kulturutøvelse og derfor er ugyldige. Fosen Vind og Roan Vind har innledet dialog med Olje- og energidepartementet og med de samiske gruppene etter avgjørelsen. Departementet har bekreftet at det ikke gjøres noen umiddelbare konsesjonsrettslige inngrep. Det vil bli fremmet søknad om fornyet konsesjon og ekspropriasjonstillatelse, inkludert oppdaterte konsekvensutredninger knyttet til reindriften og nye tiltak for å sikre at samenes rettigheter respekteres. De endelige konsekvensene av Høyesteretts avgjørelse er foreløpig høyst usikre.

Tidlig i fjerde kvartal kjøpte Statkraft 43 vindparker i drift i Tyskland og Frankrike med en samlet installert effekt på 346 MW. Oppkjøpet styrker ytterligere Statkrafts rolle som en sentral fornybaraktør i Europa.
