Silkway west airlines goes for salmon - new freighter airline to Avinor Oslo airport

- We are exited to offer the Norwegian Seafood industry increased connectivities through our Global Aircargo Hub in Baku. Silkway has been flying Norwegian Seafood for many years through other European gateways, and we are now very pleased to finally add Oslo to our global network, says Silkways Commercial Director Europe, Mr. Riad Fataliyev
The route will be operated by a Boeing 747-400F, serving Avinor Oslo Airport every Friday with onward connexes throughout the whole Far East via Baku. In Baku The Silkway Group is operating a State-Of-The-Art aircargo centre which does include modern temperature controlled and perishable facilities.

In February, 3.6 million travelers used Avinor's airports. This is an increase of 2 percent compared to February 2024. There is a slight increase in the number of domestic travelers, but for international travelers, the number went up by 6 percent.

Early in the morning of 14 January 2025, a freighter from SF Airlines departed from Ezhou Huahu International Airport in China, bound for Oslo Airport. This marks the official launch of the Ezhou–Oslo freight route. “This is the first time SF Airlines is flying to Norway, and it is also Ezhou’s first freight route to Norway,” says Eva Beate Lande, Director of Cargo at Avinor.
