Rendra AS and Takenaka Corporation Announce New BIM Partnership Agreement
Takenaka signs three-year enterprise agreement to utilize Rendra’s collaborative StreamBIM digital BIM construction software
[Oslo, Norway]: Rendra AS, a company within the JDM Technology Group, today announced a new partnership with Takenaka Corporation of Japan. The signing of this three-year enterprise agreement, Rendra’s first in Japan, affirms and supports Rendra’s strategy of becoming a global software supplier for the AEC industry.
Working with Takenaka Corporation means that Rendra will be able to further develop the StreamBIM collaborative platform together with an experienced and accomplished partner.
StreamBIM enables users to view Building Information Models (BIM) on a variety of devices, including PCs, smart phones, and tablets, as well as managing a variety of document types including 2D drawings. StreamBIM helps to facilitate communication and construction activities for the entire building cycle, from design and construction to maintenance and management.
“We have been working with Takenaka for more than a year already and our relationship has been a true pleasure,” said Ole Kristian Kvarsvik, Managing Director at Rendra. “Japan’s construction industry is rapidly adopting digital technologies and when Takenaka wanted to extend its use of Building Information Models (BIM), during the construction stage, they looked for a BIM construction and collaboration product that was proven.”
To date Takenaka has deployed StreamBIM on more than 60 projects and this agreement will empower Takenaka to further extend its digital construction expertise. Rendra is very pleased to sign this BIM partnership and to support Takenaka’s goal to digitize their processes.
“We believe there will be innovations and synergies when we bring the leaders of Japanese project delivery and Scandinavian BIM knowhow together in our product,” said Ole Kristian Kvarsvik, Managing Director at Rendra. “The Takenaka team is very well-informed regarding technology in the market, and we are humbled they have chosen Rendra as their partner as they continue to deliver great facilities to their customers.”
”Our site visit to Backe project Lindelia and the Vasakronan project Celsius run by Byggstyrning and a discussion with Skanska about VDC showed us the value of deploying BIM on our construction projects”, says Hiroaki Yamasaki, Senior BIM manager at Takenaka. “With a collaborative BIM software, we will be able to have a complete digital audit/record of the building, which is much more valuable to us than paper documents and improve of our construction process substantially”.
As part of the BIM partnership agreement, Rendra will establish an office in Japan and work alongside Takenaka’s progressive R&D department, and with Takenaka’s professional project delivery teams.
