Nominated for contract for new treatment plant in Fredrikstad

The wastewater treatment plant will be located at Øra industrial area in Fredrikstad and will comprise several buildings. One building for pre-treatment and bio-treatment with an administrative section, one building for sludge treatment and two digestion tanks. The project will provide new and more environmentally friendly treatment technology and satisfy stricter requirements from the County Governor.
The contract period will start with an interaction phase in August 2022. The purpose is to ensure coordinated design and execution to identify the best solutions. If the goals of the interaction are achieved after the interaction phase, phase 2 will be implemented with detailed design and execution. Expected completion of phase 2 is in 2026.
The project will be implemented in two phases. The combined contract value for phase 1 and phase 2 is expected to be in excess of NOK 1.1 billion.
“We are incredibly pleased with being awarded an exciting and future-looking interaction project. Treatment plants are a focus area for our building business in Østfold. We are looking forward to starting the first phase with FREVAR KF and to take part in a project that helps ensure a cleaner Oslofjord,” says Amund Tøftum, CEO of AF Gruppen.
