From Copenhagen to San Francisco: In October, Aparta Founder and CEO Eilin Schjetne will take the company to TechCrunch Disrupt, where Aparta has been selected for Startup Battlefield 200 as the only Norwegian company and the only Nordic fintech among the 200 startups selected globally.

Aparta was recognised for building scalable infrastructure for flexible homeownership, demonstrating tangible, real and measurable impact for people, communities and the economy.

With Nordea as sponsor and partner, the Nordic Fintech Awards are presented annually by Nordic Fintech Week and Copenhagen Fintech, in collaboration with the Nordic fintech hubs. This year’s jury included experts from Citi Ventures, Revolut, Swedbank, Mastercard, If and Landsbankinn.

Building a new category
Aparta enables people to buy a home together with a professional co-owner, or sell a share of a home they already own to unlock equity or remain in their home when life changes.

Aparta won the Impact category, which recognises Nordic fintech companies developing solutions that promote inclusivity, sustainability and human-centred impact, with tangible and measurable results.

“For us, the Impact category is particularly meaningful because it goes to the heart of why we built Aparta. Our ambition is to create real and scalable impact by helping more people become and remain homeowners. It is incredibly meaningful to see the financial industry recognise the value of professional co-ownership as a new and more flexible way to own a home. Through our independent platform, we can bring this model to people across markets and at a scale that has not been possible before,” says Eilin Schjetne, Founder and CEO of Aparta.

Heading to San Francisco
The award in Copenhagen follows another major international recognition for Aparta. The company was recently selected for TechCrunch Startup Battlefield 200 2026 in San Francisco as the only Norwegian company and the only Nordic fintech among the 200 startups selected globally.

Selected from thousands of applicants, Aparta will present the company to global investors and the international technology ecosystem at TechCrunch Disrupt in October.

A €20 trillion European market opportunity
For professional investors, Aparta creates access to a new asset class by connecting institutional capital with owner-occupied residential real estate, addressing an estimated €20 trillion market across urban areas in selected European countries.

Aparta has already completed more than 60 co-ownership investments, with €12 million in capital deployed and more than 1,200 households on the waitlist. The company has secured approvals from financial authorities across three Nordic markets and is now preparing for its first investments in Norway and Denmark.

“The model is proven. Now it is all about scaling. Access to and flexibility in homeownership is a global challenge, and we have built Aparta from day one with the ambition to address it at scale,” Schjetne concludes.
