Det er en alvorlig siktelse Økokrim har tatt ut. Samtidig opplever hun det positivt at påstandene nå blir gjenstand for en grundig etterforskning, slik at man kan få avklart de faktiske forholdene. Min klient kjenner seg ikke igjen i siktelsen.

Hun vil møte til avhør hos Økokrim denne uken og vil der begynne å redegjøre for de forhold hun har kunnskap om. Hun vil også samarbeide med Utenriksdepartementets undersøkelser. Hennes forklaring vil bli gitt til myndighetene i de formelle prosessene, ikke i media. Det er derfor først når disse undersøkelsene er fullført at hun vil kunne kommentere saken ytterligere. For henne er det viktigste nå å bidra til at saken blir tilstrekkelig og forsvarlig opplyst, slik at Økokrim og UD kan komme fram til en riktig konklusjon.

It is a serious charge that the National Authority for Investigation and Prosecution of Economic and Environmental Crime has brought. At the same time, she views it positively that the allegations will now be subject to a thorough investigation, allowing the actual circumstances to be clarified. My client does not recognize the accusations made against her.

She will attend questioning with the National Authority for Investigation and Prosecution of Economic and Environmental Crime this week, where she will begin to explain the matters she has knowledge of. She will also cooperate with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ inquiries. Her account will be given to the authorities through the formal processes, not to the media. It is therefore only once these investigations are completed that she will be able to comment further on the case. For her, the most important thing now is to contribute to ensuring that the case is sufficiently and properly clarified, so that the police and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs can reach the correct conclusion.
