9.2.2026 11:16:26 CET | KONGSBERG | Press release
OSLO, Norway – Kongsberg Digital, a leading provider of industrial software and digital twin technology, has entered into a partnership with Google Cloud to accelerate the delivery of scalable, AI-powered industrial intelligence for global energy and industrial customers.

The collaboration combines Kongsberg Digital’s deep industrial domain expertise and flagship Industrial Work Surface digital twin solution, Kognitwin®, with Google Cloud’s hyperscale computing infrastructure and advanced AI capabilities. The collaboration will enable customers to move beyond traditional data storage and analytics toward the real-time synthesis of complex industrial data, delivering measurable operational impact across safety, efficiency, and asset performance.
“Operators are not asking for more data – they are asking for better decisions, faster,” said Shane McArdle, CEO of Kongsberg Digital. “We are at a pivotal moment where the heavy asset sector must move beyond digitalisation as a cost-saving exercise, and focus on using industrial intelligence to transform operations. This collaboration allows us to scale our core offerings globally, combining our deep domain expertise with Google Cloud’s speed, security and AI capabilities to deliver immediate value for complex energy operations.”
By hosting Kongsberg Digital’s software on Google Cloud’s secure global network, industrial customers gain access to high-performance computing power that supports advanced AI/ML, robotics, and AR/VR-enabled use cases – while maintaining full ownership and control of Kongsberg Digital’s industrial models, logic and domain intelligence.
Kongsberg Digital is focused on applying advanced computing and AI orchestration to real-world industrial challenges, enabling faster insights and improved decision-making across distributed assets.
Initial use cases include:
- Smart logistics, optimising how materials, equipment, and personnel move across global operations
- Predictive operations, identifying maintenance and performance risks before they result in unplanned downtime
- Safety through robotics, enabling hands-free inspections and remote field operations
Google Cloud brings massive computing capacity and advanced AI tools, with experience applying these technologies to business-critical challenges at scale. Kongsberg Digital contributes a living digital twin environment that contextualises industrial data, runs simulations and supports automated decision-making – providing a single source of digital truth for operators, engineers and frontline workers.
“Delivering industrial intelligence at scale requires both deep domain expertise and access to high-performance computing,” said Anne-Sofie Risåsen, Country Manager, Google Cloud. “By combining Kongsberg Digital’s industrial reasoning and digital twin technology with our global infrastructure and AI capabilities, we are helping industrial organisations scale innovation securely and turn insight into operational results faster.”
As part of the agreement, Kongsberg Digital and Google Cloud have committed to a joint roadmap to extend AI-enabled industrial intelligence across energy and industrial markets, ensuring customers benefit from continued innovation, performance and scalability.
