Sweden orders KONGSBERG remote weapon stations for CV90

Share

Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace (‘KONGSBERG’) has signed a contract with the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration for the delivery of PROTECTOR remote weapon stations for, among others, the Combat Vehicle 90 (CV90).

PROTECTOR RWS

The value of the contract is more than SEK 400 million, with a potential increase for additional RWS units for other vehicles.

The weapon station PROTECTOR RS4 is a modernised version of the army's existing PROTECTOR Nordic variant. The system adds many important capabilities, including integrated sensors and the ability to operate several different weapon systems at longer distances, while protected in the vehicle.

The acquisition meets the Swedish armed forces’ need for remote-controlled weapon stations for three variants of the CV 90, but also other vehicles for the army.

KONGSBERG weapons stations have already been procured for the Common Armoured Vehicle System (CAVS) 300 and Archer 8x8.
