Avinor enters agreement with Fast Travel for curbside operations at five airports
19.9.2025 12:00:00 CEST | The Avinor Group | Press release
Avinor has signed an agreement with Fast Travel AS for the operation of curbside areas at five of Norway’s largest airports: Tromsø, Bergen, Stavanger, Trondheim, and Oslo.

Smoother journeys and safe passage
The curbside area is the zone in front of the terminal designated for selected user groups, such as airport buses, scheduled buses, shuttle services, and taxis.
Under the agreement, Fast Travel will be responsible for access control, taxi dispatch, and the administration of the curbside area, tailored to the needs of each airport and in line with Avinor’s guidelines. The solution will enable better capacity utilization in one of the airport’s busiest zones. At the same time, safety is enhanced through controlled traffic flow, vehicle dispatch, and access management. As with all airport operations, stable and secure operations remain Avinor’s highest priority.
With this agreement, passengers at the five airports will benefit from the same taxi solution already in operation at Oslo Airport. This means a safe, reliable, and customer-friendly service where passengers order a taxi themselves and agree on the price in advance.
Fast Travel will take over curbside operations on November 1 at Tromsø Airport and by December 1 at Bergen, Trondheim, and Stavanger airports. At Oslo Airport, where Fast Travel already has an agreement, operations will be extended from October 1, 2026, and will cover all user groups.
New booking kiosks for passengers and driver app for taxis
To make ordering simple and accessible, booking kiosks will be installed at the airports, complemented by locally adapted digital ordering channels. Taxi drivers will gain access to a dedicated driver app featuring, among other functions, estimated wait times; making daily planning easier.
- This solution provides travelers with a more predictable and safe taxi service. They order their own car and agree on the price beforehand, giving better control and a more customer-friendly experience, says Tom Rune Arnsen, Key Account Manager at Avinor.
- For taxi companies, this means a more efficient workday. The driver app provides an overview of expected wait times and helps plan trips more effectively. Experience from Oslo Airport shows that waiting times have been significantly reduced, Arnsen continues.
- We have placed great emphasis on local adaptation and clear information during implementation. Our collaboration with Fast Travel provides a robust and flexible solution that meets the needs of both passengers and taxi operators, he concludes.
Efficient for drivers and a better experience for passengers
- We are proud to have been entrusted with bringing our concept to some of Norway’s largest airports. This represents a significant milestone for us, and we take on the responsibility with great humility, says Ole Amundsen, CEO of Fast Travel AS.
- Our solution gives travelers a safe and predictable experience. When all taxis must be pre-booked, the terminal area becomes calmer and easier to navigate. It also reduces downtime for drivers and ensures more efficient use of space, Amundsen continues.
- We are committed to giving the industry ample time to adapt. That is why we are rolling out the solution gradually, in close collaboration with Avinor. Our goal is to ensure that all stakeholders have the best possible conditions for success during and after implementation.
- This is a Norwegian innovation with global potential. Our ambition is to bring the concept to international markets and demonstrate how technology and smart organization can improve the transport experience for millions of travelers, Amundsen concludes.
