Two in a row for Havila Voyages

At the Kreuzfahrtguide Awards ceremony in Hamburg last Friday evening, Havila Voyages received the prize in the “Sustainability” category for Havila Polaris and the company’s pioneering work in low-emission operations along the Norwegian coast.

The award highlights the company’s efforts for a more environmentally friendly coastal route, and Havila was already recognized in 2024 for its sustainable solutions on the coastal route.

“This recognition is yet another great proof that technological innovation and responsible tourism can go hand in hand,” says CEO Bent Martini of Havila Voyages.

“For us, this prize means first and foremost that we will continue to push forward – for the coast, the people along the coast, and for future generations.”

It was Pia Kuusisto, Sales Manager for D-A-CH, EMEA, AS, and SA, who accepted the prize in Hamburg on behalf of Havila Voyages, and in the jury’s reasoning it was stated:
“This shipping company shows what is technically feasible and economically possible today.”

Havila Voyages has invested in a combination of large battery packs and cleaner energy both onboard and from shore power — a concept the jury also emphasized in its statement.

“It is gratifying that the work we do is being noticed in the world’s second largest cruise market, and in our main area of operation,” concludes Martini.
