Isabella Maidment Appointed Chief Curator and Director of Collection at Henie Onstad

"Isabella Maidment is an outstanding curator with an extensive network, deep knowledge of modernism and contemporary art, collections management, and strong leadership experience. Henie Onstad is a leading international museum serving both local and global visitors, and Isabella will be a vital addition not only to Henie Onstad, but to the Norwegian art scene as a whole".

Maidment has held several senior positions, including Chief Curator at ARoS Aarhus Art Museum in Denmark, where she was responsible for the museum's artistic direction and led the curatorial, collections, and public engagement teams. Previously, she was Head of Curatorial and Research at the same museum. She has also been Senior Curator at The Hepworth Wakefield in Yorkshire and held curatorial posts at Tate Britain and Tate Modern in London, where she curated major international exhibitions and new commissions.

Maidment holds a PhD in History of Art from University College London a Master's degree in History of Art from the University of Oxford. She is relocating to Norway and will begin her role at Henie Onstad in September.
