KONGSBERG and Advanced Protection Systems enter Polish-Norwegian Partnership for Counter-UAS Solutions
29.7.2025 08:30:59 CEST | KONGSBERG | Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace | Press release
Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace (‘KONGSBERG’) and Advanced Protection Systems have signed a Teaming Agreement to jointly develop and deliver advanced Counter-Unmanned Aerial Systems (CUAS) solutions.

The two partners bring complementary capabilities to the strategic collaboration. Advanced Protection Systems of Poland is a specialised manufacturer of radars and anti-drone systems and Norway’s Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace is an international defence company with expertise in medium and short-range air defence systems, including C-UAS.
Both companies have identified growing global market demand and urgent defence needs for C-UAS solutions, with an initial focus on Poland and Norway, where national and allied security infrastructure is vulnerable to unmanned aerial threats at the NATO eastern flank.
Through the agreement, the two companies have agreed to:
- Jointly identify and pursue C-UAS business opportunities.
- Propose, secure, and execute common solutions combining radars, sensor fusion, command & control, and kinetic/non-kinetic response systems.
- Exchange sensitive technical and business knowledge to enable high-performance, scalable, and interoperable C-UAS systems.
“With the dramatic rise in drone-based threats, especially on the battlefield and in critical infrastructure protection, the need for robust, battlefield-proven C-UAS systems is no longer optional — it is mandatory and urgent,” said Eirik Lie, President of Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace.
“The partnership with Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace is another step in strengthening Europe’s counter-drone capabilities. By combining our battlefield-proven FIELDctrl radars and SKYctrl C-UAS systems technologies with KONGSBERG’s decades of experience in air defence, we are creating solutions that are not only highly effective but also fully interoperable within NATO. In the face of the growing threat along the Alliance’s eastern flank, ensuring the security of civil and military critical infrastructure is our top priority,” said Maciej Klemm, Co-Founder and CEO of Advanced Protection Systems.
This agreement reinforces Poland’s position as a regional hub for counter-drone innovation, strengthened by the proven expertise and technologies of Advanced Protection Systems in C-UAS development and Norway’s growing role in European air defence integration, with Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace bringing decades of experience in missile and air defence systems to the C-UAS domain.
The collaboration between KONGSBERG and Advanced Protection Systems, demonstrates both companies’ commitment and support to NATO-aligned industrial cooperation to strengthen the European security landscape.
