NTB provides Belga with cutting-edge sports data solutions
NTB and Belga are teaming up in a strategic partnership aimed at modernising the workflow for covering sports and results in Belgium.

"This partnership with Belga is all about a common goal: raising the bar for sports data innovation and technology together. We are excited to bring our expertise to the Belgian market and together with the fantastic team in Belga work to set the new standards for sports data in the media industry in Belgium," says Tina Mari Flem, Editor-In-Chief and CEO at NTB, the Norwegian News Agency.
Adapting to modern media needs
The partnership between NTB and Belga, Belgium's leading news agency, aims to streamline operations for news agencies. Moving away from manual result input to NTBs tool system, the reporters may efficiently add, enrich, edit and export results. The tool also supports integration with multiple data sources. This not only improves efficiency but also provides seamless access to sports data, empowering agencies to produce and distribute content more effectively. NTB has had great success with this in the Norwegian media market.
“If we want to stay relevant in the media industry we must help media houses cover sports in a more modern way. We started off covering the results, tables and facts following events. Now our covering is mostly live, and we can use the same data for prints after the events as well”, says Terje Alstad, Head of Sports Data at NTB.
The collaboration between NTB and Belga will help Belga offer more modern products while continuing to deliver the sports data their clients rely on.
“Our clients rely on us for excellent sports data services. Integrating NTB’s technology allows us to better serve our clients with innovative, future-ready sports data solutions,” says Patrick Lacroix, CEO at Belga.
A global model in tech
By joining forces, NTB and Belga are showing how news agencies can lead the way in technological innovation.
“As we transition away from traditional print formats, our partnership with NTB enables us to harness their cutting-edge sports data tools to enhance both content production and distribution. This digital shift opens new opportunities, and we’re keen to involve federations and publishers to share its value with their audiences,” comments Tom Wuytack, CIO at Belga.
Belga will benefit from NTB's integration system and gain access to the portfolio of Enetpulse, an international sports data provider. Belga has the option to add their own data or use the data covered by Enetpulse. In that way they can focus on the national sports and connect to different national sports associations.
"This collaboration opens new avenues for growth and efficiency in sports data management. We are thrilled to work with Belga and provide them with cutting-edge solutions that will enhance their operations," states Terje Alstad at NTB.
