Building Instrument unveils the second single from their upcoming album, Da/Innom is out now!
On March 14, the Norwegian trio Building Instrument will release their fourth album on Hubro. Among the many highlights is the second single, “Da/Innom,” a song that portrays a heartfelt conversation in which a mother attempts to answer her children's curious questions about where she believes she’ll go after death.

The trio —comprising Mari Kvien Brunvoll, Åsmund Weltzien, and Øyvind Hegg-Lunde— returns with a collection of dreamy new tracks filled with shimmering synth textures and captivating lyrics about the moon, spirits, animals, and simply being alive. The album Månen, Armadillo captures the wild, the fragile, and the beautifully fleeting, transcending genre boundaries and reflecting the trio’s open and playful approach to music.
The Bergen-based trio has been active for nearly 20 years, crafting a unique sound that blends free improvisation with elements composed collaboratively by the three musicians. The result is a homemade, musical patchwork quilt. Their music merges elements of electronica, folk music, improvisation, and contemporary classical music.
Since their 2014 debut album Building Instrument, also released on Hubro, the trio has continually explored new musical directions while maintaining their distinctive expression. Much of the material for Månen, Armadillo was developed as part of a commissioned work for the electronic music festival Ekko in Bergen in 2022.

Line-up:
- Mari Kvien Brunvoll: vocals, glockenspiel, zither, flute, percussion, electronics
- Åsmund Weltzien: synthesizers, electronics
- Øyvind Hegg-Lunde: acoustic and electronic drums, percussion, samples

Tapt musikk blir levende igjen – Olav Kiellands hardingfeleverk utgis for første gang11.4.2025 09:00:00 CEST | Pressemelding
