The weather affects coastal route traffic

Especially the northern parts of the country are affected by strong winds and adverse weather conditions, resulting in the cancellation of calls at certain ports.

Havila Pollux has decided to seek shelter in Harstad and has canceled all departures up to Kirkenes and back until February 1st when the ship will resume its southbound route.

"We never compromise on the safety of our passengers, our crew, and our ships. Our seafarers have extensive experience along the coast, and we support the weather-related assessments," says Marianne Vågen Langeland, Chief Operating Officer at Havila Voyages.

"Regarding Havila Pollux, we will not be able to catch up on the northbound route given the current situation, so we choose to stay in Harstad until we can resume the southbound route. We believe it's better than getting delayed on the rest of the route due to the weather."

Havila Capella will also remain in Harstad awaiting improved conditions, and for now, all ports in Vesterålen, Lofoten, and Helgeland southbound are canceled. It is planned for Havila Capella to leave Harstad on Monday evening and return to its schedule in Trondheim on Wednesday morning.
