Passenger figures for February: Strong growth internationally but flat development domestically

3.5 million travelers used Avinor's airports in February.

-The positive trend in the number of international travelers from January continues in February. Compared to February last year, the growth in international travelers is14 percent. The number of domestic trips increased by 6 percent, says Abraham Foss, CEO of Avinor. -This is also a continuation of the trend from last year where international traffic drives the development, while domestic traffic levels flattens out.
Adjusted for the leap day, the growth is 1% for domestic and 10% for international, resulting in a total growth of 4%.
Passenger numbers
2,151,462 passengers traveled domestically, and 1,358,725 traveled internationally in February.
Flight movements
Avinor had 51,554 commercial flight movements in February. That is 3 percent more than in February 2023.
Drone flights
In February, 1,267 drone flights were reported in Ninox Drone, Avinor's drone management system.
-This is almost a doubling of the number of flights compared to February 2023, says Mats Gjertsen, who leads Avinor's drone program. -These are high numbers for a winter month.
