Einar Flaa gives voice to the outcasts on his new single "Tommy" - out today!
The single tells the story of those who had to overcome a lot of hardship, but still managed to succeed in life - as a stronger person.

Einar Flaa is an exceptionally skilled songwriter and storyteller in the alternative country genre. The song "Tommy" tells the story of those who faced adversity but still grew into a beautiful flower. It's not necessarily the case that everyone who starts off on the wrong foot ends up on a downward spiral. Fate often strikes those who make life difficult for others more frequently.
Einar Flaa explains, "I wrote the song Tommy for the anti-heroes in my life, for those who had a rough start but managed to rise above it."
"Tommy" is out today, and could be a story from Einar Flaa's own upbringing, perhaps even about himself. In the song, Einar tells the story of a boy's tough struggle with poverty, bullying, harassment, and little help and support at home. The song follows the boy through life until he becomes a reflective, insightful, and secure man. In the lyrics, Einar emphasizes that those who bear a heavy burden often gain a deeper understanding of life's ups and downs through their fate.
As Einar himself says, "I think these are the finest people."
Einar's soulful voice and storytelling ability are particularly prominent in "Tommy." Einar Flaa has enlisted some living legends in the Norwegian music scene as collaborators on the song. Erland Dahlen accompanies on drums, Jo Berger Myhre on bass, and David Wallumrød on keyboards. Einar sings, harmonizes, and plays the guitar himself. He has also produced the song. Johnny Skalleberg handled the mixing, and Helge Sten (Deathprod) mastered the track.
