Share

Last autumn, Marte Eberson released her second solo album to massive positive reviews, and was appointed to be one of 2023's musical highlights in Norway. Today she will release the single "Adore You" in a live version, which has not been released before. There, Eberson goes in a darker indie rock direction, inspired by 90s pioneers such as Portishead and Massive Attack.

When Marte Eberson released her solo album "Free" last fall, the release received massive positive reviews, and Marte was praised for her unique expression in indie pop. The album release was celebrated with cheers and standing ovations at the legendary venue in Oslo, Parkteateret. The entire live performance was recorded, and today the live version of "Adore You" is out! It is a gem of a song that has not been released before.

The song takes a step further into indie rock. "Adore You" is a tender and heartfelt ballad. With clear inspiration from 90s bands like Portishead and Massive Attack, Eberson has created a dramatic and dynamic musical landscape. Marte Eberson sings grippingly about hopeless infatuation, while the intense interplay transitions from soft to hard and continues to evolve throughout the 8-minute piece. Marte says:

-This is a song that is structured in a way that allows all the musicians in the band to unfold and have their space. The song is an 8-minute-long story where the instrumental parts are just as important for storytelling as the lyrics. After listening to the recording of the song, I got a real kick out of hearing all the beautiful playing and the details in the musicians' performance and singing. Additionally, I thought the energy was so raw and present, and I thought this needs to be released!

The musicians Eberson had with her at Parkteateret in Oslo, who have helped shape the song, are Ellen Brekken on bass, Marius Simonsen on drums, Stian Larsen on electric guitar, Håvard Ersland on keys, Maria Skranes and Maylen Rusti on backing vocals. Lars Voldsdal recorded the song at Parkteateret and mixed it. Marte Eberson has a broad spectrum as a musician, songwriter, and artist. As an active and experienced musician, she has made an impression in many genres. As a member of groups and bands like Eberson, Highasakite, Husmo Hav, LÖV, and as a live musician for artists like Ane Brun, Hedvig Mollestad, and Liv Andrea Hauge, she has built a long and prestigious CV and received numerous recognitions and awards.

Tapt musikk blir levende igjen – Olav Kiellands hardingfeleverk utgis for første gang11.4.2025 09:00:00 CEST | Pressemelding
