Building an extension to commercial premises in Oslo
AF Gruppen has signed a contract with Ensjøveien 23B for the construction of an extension for the Salvation Army at Ensjø in Oslo. The contract will be carried out as a turnkey contract and is valued at approximately NOK 120 million, excluding VAT.

The project includes the construction of an extension that will be connected to existing commercial premises on the site. The extension will have an area of approx. 3,000 m2, and contains, among other things, an assembly hall, external activities, an activity hall and office space.
The site and existing buildings are currently owned by Höegh Eiendom but will be transferred to Salvation Army Eiendom after completion of the extension as part of exchange of real estate.
«We are very pleased to be able to continue our good cooperation with Höegh and the Salvation Army from the interaction phase to execution. The building will be both a great addition to the local community and good office space for the Salvation Army,» says Eirik Wraal, EVP of AF Gruppen.
«The cooperation with AF throughout the interaction phase has been good and constructive, AF has contributed to developing the project in accordance with the Salvation Army's needs and wishes. We are very pleased that we have now agreed on the implementation of the project with AF and look forward to the further cooperation with AF and the Salvation Army. We look forward to seeing the building rise and take shape,» says Eirik Thrygg, CEO of Höegh Eiendom
The building will be BREEAM certified according to BREEAM NOR v. 6.0 to level Very Good. Construction is scheduled to start in July 2023, with a construction time of approximately 18 months.
«The Salvation Army is grateful for this opportunity, with good partners, to expand our work in Hovinbyen. It is an exciting part of Oslo, which is growing strongly, and we look forward to contributing to meeting people's various needs,» says Commander Knud David Welander, territorial commander of the Salvation Army in Norway, Iceland and the Faroe Islands.
