Einar Flaa releases new warm and genuine Nordicana for lazy summer days. Flaa released his previous album "Worry Chord" in 2020. His new album is coming out in 2024, and "Hidden in my Closet" is the first single from the upcoming record. Flaa is a renowned Norwegian singer-songwriter who is known for his gentle voice and heartfelt lyrics.

The song "Hidden in my Closet" is a summary of his approach to the spiritual, placed in an organic pop inspired soundscape. Flaa's bright, soft vocals raise a number of philosophical questions. Geir Sundstøl is playing the banjo and lap steel, making the musical landscape distinctivly a timeless nordicana song.

Einar asks questions like:

-       If I turn to God what will be the differences from today? Will it ease my constant searching? Will it point out a way that I can't find?

"Hidden in my Closet" deals with the big questions in life. Einar grew up in a family that didn't believe in God. Therefore he wasn't exposed to anything spiritual that belonged to any religion. As a curious child, he still thought a lot about these things and how the spiritual could be connected with the world we live in. The somewhat shameful thoughts received a kind of redemption when the song "One Of Us" with Joan Osborne was released in 1995. The song did not answer Einar's questions, but built a bridge between the unassailable and the more concrete.

Since then, Einar has pondered the same questions and has gradually adopted a more liberal stance than what was expected of him in his youth. Today he thinks a lot about the power of being spiritual, of having something to believe in. For Einar, the spiritual thoughts come when he is in nature. Then he thinks that the potential of religion can perhaps become a positive force against man's destruction of the earth.

The song was mixed by Johnny Skalleberg and mastered by Helge Sten. Well-known musicians such as Geir Sundstøl, Eirik Tovsrud Knutsen (Odd Nordstoga, CC Cowboys), Martin Winstad, Kim Bergseth and Bill Troiani contribute.
