Change of CEO at If P&C Insurance

Magnusson has been CEO of If, the largest insurance company in the Nordic region, for 17 years. He now moves on to a new position with If's parent company, Sampo plc.

Record strong

- We have just recorded another very strong year for If so this is a good time to hand over the responsibility to Morten, says Magnusson.

Morten Thorsrud is well acquainted with If, having worked there since 2002. He has led If's largest Business Area Private since 2013. Prior to that he held the position as Head of Business Area Industrial.

- If’s success is a result of our dedication to being best in risk coupled with a clear focus on offering customers the best possible products and services. The latter, not least through first class digital solutions. This is a strategy that we will continue on my watch, says Thorsrud.

New Head of Private

At the same time, Ingrid Janbu Holthe succeeds Thorsrud as Head of Business Area Private. She will be responsible for more than 3 million private customers in the Nordic countries and joins If’s group management team. Janbu Holthe comes from the position as Head of Sales and Service Norway, Business Area Private, a job she has had since 2015.

Management changes in Sampo

Torbjörn Magnusson will continue to have an active role in If, as chairman of the board of the parent company If P&C Insurance Holding AB (publ). He will take over as Group CEO of Sampo plc January 1, 2020. Furthermore, the nomination committee of Nordea Plc today proposed Magnusson as the new chairman of the board of directors of Nordea.

Ricard Wennerklint, If’s Deputy CEO, will leave his operative position in If and become member of the board of If P&C Insurance Holding AB (publ). In addition, the nomination committee of Topdanmark A/S has proposed Wennerklint as the new chairman of the board of directors of Topdanmark.
