Commencing on 28 October, Latvian-based airBaltic is adding further network ties with Avinor as it announces a twice-weekly service from its secondary hub in Tallinn. Flights from the Estonian capital will be operated by the airline’s 737-300 fleet on Thursdays and Sundays, and are conveniently scheduled for passengers at both ends of the route to enjoy a weekend break in either city.

“airBaltic is building its hub in Tallinn as it tries to become the first choice for travellers to and from Estonia, just as it has done from its home base in Riga. We are delighted that the airline has chosen Oslo as the next step on this network development journey at Tallinn.”

airBaltic already serves Oslo 14 times weekly from its Riga hub during the winter season, increasing up to 20 times weekly during the peak summer months, primarily using its Q400s. The new route from Tallinn strengthens an already growing and vital partnership with the carrier for Avinor, as last summer it introduced three times weekly flights from Riga to Stavanger, a seasonal route which returns in S18 from May.

The new service from Tallinn to Oslo joins the two existing carriers on the city pair ‒ Norwegian will fly daily operations in S18, with Nordica offering a 12 times weekly service on the 769-kilometre sector across the Baltic Sea this summer.
