Suspected ISA on sites Espnestaren and Måøydraga
ISA is suspected at the sites Espnestaren (site number 32677) and Måøydraga (site number 12370) both located in Frøya Municipality, after a routine screening of ISA indicating positive results. Confirmation on sampling results will first be concluded after further testing, until sampling results are confirmed Måsøval will treat the suspicion internally as a confirmation. Strict measures have been implemented to contain the virus and prevent further spread, and Måsøval have notified relevant authorities. A potential confirmation of ISA could result in accelerated harvest of the whole or parts of the sites. The timeline of harvesting of the sites depends on diseas course, logistics and harvesting capacity.
On the site Espnestaren there is currently 11.08.24 approximately 1.1 million salmon with an average weight of 3.4 kg WFE. On the site Måøydraga there is approximately 274.000 salmon with an average weight of 3.8 kg WFE. Espnestaren was planned to finalize harvesting in week 50, while Måøydraga was planned to finalize harvesting in week 39. Parts of the salmon on Espnestaren is co located broodstock owned by Aquagen operated by Måsøval, Måsøval also operate one educational license for Trøndelag Fylkeskommune on the site.
Because of the suspected ISA the harvest guiding for the year 2024 is reduced from 27.000-28.000 GWT to 26.500-27.500 GWT.
