OSLO, Norway, December 10, 2024 — A Letter of Intent (LOI) has been signed among key aviation stakeholders to participate in an International Test Arena for Zero- and Low-Emission Aviation in Norway. This landmark agreement — which involves the Civil Aviation Authority of Norway (CAA Norway), Avinor AS, BETA Technologies, and Bristow Norway AS (a subsidiary of Bristow Group Inc.) — signifies the parties’ shared commitment to accelerating the adoption of zero- and low-emission aircraft and marks a significant step toward bringing that future to the Nordic region.

From the end of October, Europe's second-largest low-cost airline, easyJet, will establish a number of new destinations at Oslo airport and Tromsø airport. This major initiative in Norway marks a significant expansion of easyJet's route network.

There has been a notice of industrial action in Avinor AS in connection with main negotiations for NTL members.

[Oslo, 24 April] Avinor and the Norwegian Civil Aviation Authority have today entered into a cooperation agreement on the establishment of Norway as an international test arena for zero- and low-emission aircraft. The establishment will be a key measure for achieving the goal of fossil-free Norwegian aviation in 2050.
